Grateful to have a chance to witness history. Blessed to sit at the feet of Captain George Nichols and learn from a true pioneer. Our campus mentorship (Nichols Academy) has been going strong for several years now providing Haircuts, Food and Mental Health discussions for students. Nichols, a Johnson City native and Langston High School graduate along with 4 other students;

This past Saturday October 25th, a statue was unveiled by Detroit native, artist & sculptor Mr. Austen Brantley. Blessed to have Mr. Brantley come by the our Johnson City location for a hot towel straight razor shave prior to the ceremony.

We’re so grateful for the sacrifices made by George Nichols along with the other four students who broke the multicultural barrier and honored to help carry your legacy Forward.

(most points scored in program history)

Proud is an understatement my friend! Just glad I was able to get a front row seat. Thank you for trusting me to be your barber when I was an unlicensed 18yrs old! but more importantly…..thank you for making ETSU Great!

Captain George Nichols, was a member of the first undergraduate class to integrate E.T.S.U. in the Fall of 1958. His efforts along with others helped blaze a trail for a multicultural University.

Welcome (officially) the Newest Member of Team TaylorMade. Mr. Nate Smith

Although Nate is no stranger around the shop, he started an apprenticeship with us last December. Last week he got his license and signed his contract. We couldn’t be more excited for what he contributes to our Johnson City location and our amazing clients!

Unlike most barbers fresh out of school, Nate had a good clientele already established before going to barber school. His journey began in a small shed in his Backyard…..hence; .shop
