Today, Governor Hochul announced a new mask mandate for businesses. Effective Monday, December 13, all staff and clients in the salon will be required to wear a mask at all times.

NY to require masks in all public places unless places require vaccination Masks will be required to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses implement a vaccine requirement.

Talk about bad timing - our credit card machine died today! We have called the company that we're contracted with, and it is not fixable. A replacement machine will take a week or two to arrive. They say that the delay is due to the pandemic.

So, unfortunately, we can only accept cash and checks until we get a new processing machine. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will be phoning or texting some of you before your appointments to be sure you're informed.

We've all heard by now that the number of virus cases is rising dramatically in our area. Elements is located just outside of the yellow zone in Broome County, and we remain open for business.

We'd like to thank the clients who have done the right thing by calling us to reschedule their appointments when they felt that they might have been exposed to the virus. It's the responsible and considerate thing to do!

We are continuing to do all that we can to keep us all healthy and safe. Properly worn masks are required at all times. This means the nose and mouth are covered. (Nobody enjoys wearing them, but if your stylist can do it for 10 hours, you can do it for 1or 2!) Upon entry to the salon, we will still ask you to sanitize your hands and to answer a few brief questions about possible exposure or symptoms. We clean and sanitize chairs, sinks, tools, and any other items that clients come in contact with between each appointment. We are still required to limit occupancy in the salon, and ask that clients wait outside until their appointment times.

We love what we do, and we love all of you. So again, thank you for supporting us, and for allowing us to serve you. Following the rules is what will keep us open for business!

Waving to everyone from my couch. It's been a challenging 10 days since the car accident, but I'm on the mend! My fingers wiggle, and the break did not involve the wrist or hand, so I should be good as new soon.

I don't often make personal posts on fb, but I want to express a few of my gratitudes here. I'm grateful for my fiance and my family and friends for putting up with a tired, sad, and grumpy patient who really hates having to ask for help. I'm thankful that it wasn't worse. I'm grateful for the most excellent business partner and friend in the world, Bev, who took care of all of the things so I could rest. And of course, so grateful for my clients. The messages and cards have brightened my days.

I'm sorry that, just as we were getting back to normal, I've had to disrupt appointments again. I'll know early next week what my Get Back To Work plan looks like.

Did you hear we are able to reopen?! Please be patient as we work on rescheduling everyone. We will be calling you to reschedule appointments in the order that was originally scheduled. As we begin to go into Phase 2 of reopening, we want to share some of our new boutique inventory with you! ✨💇🏻‍♂️💇🏽‍♀️
When you come in for a scheduled appointment, you are able to look at all of the new retail we have on display during your scheduled appointment. *Unfortunately at this time you will not be able to try on any jewelry or scarves.*

Please note that we cannot accept walk-ins or have people come into the salon solely to purchase products.
However, if you see something in the pictures that you want, give us a call and we can offer curbside pick up at a scheduled time! Also, if you know of specific hair care products you are in need of, we can offer curbside pickup for those as well!

We want to thank you all in advance for your patience during this time, we are all adjusting to new procedures and practices to keep everyone, employees and our clients, safe and healthy!

We have still not been told what date we will be allowed to open for business. We will let everyone know just as soon as we do!

While we're waiting, we can let you know about some of the changes we've made to keep everyone healthy:

We will be working at 50% capacity for at least the first several weeks, to allow room for social distancing.

We will be cleaning and sanitizing our chairs, sinks, and tools before every appointment.

We've removed the chairs from the waiting room. Clients can wait in their cars or outdoors, but won't be allowed to hang out in the waiting room.

Clients are asked to come into the salon alone, and by appointment only. Please don't drop in without an appointment at this time.

We'll ask you to use hand sanitizer or to wash your hands before you sit down for your service. We will do the same.

We'll be wearing masks to protect you, and you'll need to wear your mask to protect us. If you're using cloth masks and you're coming in for a color service, you'll want to choose one mask to be your "hair color mask." It will likely end up with color on the elastic!I

We can't allow any food or drink in the salon.

Finally, we ask that you please do not come into the salon if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or if you think you've been exposed to it. We need all of our clients to stay healthy, and we need to stay healthy ourselves, so that we can continue to serve you!

Have you heard the news? Salons will be allowed to open in phase two! We don't have an exact date yet, but as soon as we do we'll begin booking appointments.

To be as fair as possible, we'll be calling clients to rebook appointments in the order of their first cancelled dates. Bev and Deb will both be extending their hours (a lot!) for the first several weeks to get everyone in as soon as possible. Please be patient with us - as much as we'd like to, there's no way to see everyone in the first week😉

In order to comply with social distancing and safety mandates, we've made some changes. We don't know all of the details yet, but we will be learning more about the state's new regulation for salons in the coming days. We do know that both stylists and clients will be required to wear masks at all times, so don't forget a mask that has earloops! (Other styles will be impossible to work around.) We expect to see one client per stylist at a time, and that the waiting room will not be available for clients or anyone who accompanies them.
