Story time 💜 and I were starving after work dispatching about 2 months ago and we decided to go to Los Jalapeños in Unicoi. While there we were discussing life and how I’m gonna rebuild my clientele for a second time here in Tennessee. After a little time had passed, a girl had come up to our table and asked if I used to work in Johnson City. She recognized me from the salon I left and had been trying to find me since then. What are the odds in itty bitty Unicoi 🤣 That moment boosted my confidence just a little more solidified that this is where I needed to be. That I am a better stylist than I give myself credit for.
Fast forward to today and I finally had the pleasure of having her in my chair. We blended and revamped her high and lowlights to make a beautiful combo with her natural. Thank youuuu for the magic potions to smooth down post baby regrowth. Thank you so much Crystalle for going out to eat that night and trusting me with your gorgeous hair today 💜

Y’all I’m tired. I’m burned out. More than I have felt in a long time. I don’t have hardly anything left to give. That’s the honest truth and it breaks my heart. So to whom it may concern:

To the stylist who is burned out,
I’m right there with you. One day you’ll get your spark back and it will burn brighter than before. Change where you are, mix things up, and rest. Keep holding on and do whatever makes your heart happy.

To the stylist who feels alone,
Whether it’s your personal life or behind the chair, I promise you’re not and you’ll stumble upon someone will always have your back. Keep going dear. You’ll get there.

To the stylist who doesn’t feel good enough,
I’ve been there and it’s a hard place to be. The cliché saying practice makes perfect does ring true. Find something you love, hone in on it, and trust your instincts. You don’t have to master it all. I promise you’ll find you’re niche.

To the stylist who feels under appreciated,
It’s a hard spot to be in, and I feel it so much. It kills your vibe and throws everything off. Move. Find an environment that loves and appreciates you, I promise you’ll flourish.

To the stylist who feels lost,
One of the worst feelings and it couples with burnout. Take a step back and do something that makes your heart sing. Change til you’re content. And if you do need to walk away from the industry, I promise you’re not a failure, life changes and that’s okay.

To the stylist that struggles with balance,
The balance between your life behind the chair and when you’re home is a delicate one. You gotta hustle but you miss your family and friends..You seem to be glued to your phone and your head is still in work mode. Me too. Know that it is okay to say no. The wise words my mom told “a lack of preparation on your end does not constitute an emergency on my end”. Set those boundaries.

To the stylist who has any health issues,
Choose your and your health first. Those who push your boundaries and make it worse, leave them behind. It’s not worth it. You will find a placethat will accommodate your needs and you will bloom.

We will all make it through this rough patch one way or another 🌸

I cannot even begin to say how much I love enhancing natural. Yes, I loooove vivid color and they are their own kind of beautiful. But there is something about just enhancing natural that makes my heart so happy. My client came to me having never colored her hair and just wanted healthy ends with some honey balayage 💛
