As a small business owner, I never thought I would have to deal with a situation like this.

I live 2 hours away and drove back and forth to provide an eyebrow service for a client in Oneida on April 28th, 2026 at 10:00 AM. She reached out to me because she wanted her eyebrows touched up and made darker after another artist had canceled her appointments multiple times before her wedding. I made time for her because I genuinely wanted to help.

I later contacted the previous artist and learned that the appointments were not canceled without reason. She had to reschedule because she and her children were sick.

I provided a free consultation first, then completed the actual appointment. She seemed very happy with the results before leaving. After the service was finished, the payment was later disputed and reversed without any communication.

When I tried reaching out professionally to resolve the issue, my calls and messages were ignored and blocked. I even contacted her family members, including her mom and future husband, hoping someone would help communicate respectfully so we could resolve the situation privately. Instead, I was blocked.

I have proof of the completed service, including messages, voicemails, before-and-after photos, and appointment records.

As a small business owner ,situations like this are extremely discouraging. I spend hours traveling, paying for hotels, supplies, and business expenses while trying to support my families honestly.

I’m sharing this experience to warn other small businesses to protect themselves, keep documentation, and be cautious of chargeback disputes like this.

If anyone could please help share this post, I would truly appreciate it. At the very least, I’m hoping to recover some of the expenses from my trip and the time I invested trying to help someone before her important day.

Please remember that behind every small business is a real person working hard to survive. 🤍

Hi love! I totally understand things can come up 🤍 Just a quick reminder for my current clients . No deposit is required to book, but last-minute cancellations will require a $50 fee in order to reschedule.

When cancellations happen at the last minute, it’s a loss on my end since I’ve already set aside the time, driven to the salon, and turned away other clients who wanted that spot. I truly appreciate your understanding and respect for my time 💕

For new clients, a $50 deposit is required to secure your appointment ✨
