HI FRIENDS!!! a little PSA because I’m tired of seeing it..
YOUR EXTENSIONS SHOULDN’T HURT. 🚨
And no, I’m not posting this to bash another stylist. I’m posting it because guests deserve to know what they’re looking at when it comes to their extensions, and in that a stylist can take a note or two to better their craft for not only their business but for their clientele.
This was a corrective install I took on, and there were a few things that immediately stood out to me:
🚨 TENSION. This install was 6 weeks grown out, and the amount of tension that had developed was tragic. Your extensions should never feel like they’re pulling your natural hair.
🚨 THE WEFT WAS BUNCHING. Because the row had been installed so tightly, the weft was bunching instead of laying comfortably and naturally with the hair.
🚨 THE PLACEMENT. The row was sitting directly on top of the ear, which wasn’t serving the client at all. Extension placement should be intentional, it should work with the way your hair naturally falls, how you wear it, and what you’re actually trying to achieve.
🚨THE BEADS ARENT HIDDEN. This techically isn’t wrong, but it’s 2026, let’s invest in education that teaches us improved and more efficient installs. Concealed beads are not only more comfortable, but they also make having extensions less noticeable for the guests wearing them.
And THIS is why extension installs are not one-size-fits-all, nor are they a cheap service.
A good install should consider your natural density, growth pattern, hair strength, desired result, and lifestyle—not just where we can physically attach the hair.
Your extensions should feel secure, comfortable, and functional.
Because the goal isn’t just beautiful extensions on day one.
The goal is beautiful, healthy hair throughout the entire wear. 🤎
If your extensions are pulling, hurting, giving you headaches, causing excessive shedding, or making you dread wash day… please don’t ignore it. Call me and we can take a look at them!
Your extensions should work WITH your hair- not against it.

So many of my clients are leaning more toward their natural side and it’s a dream. The simplicity of it is beautiful, yet it still enhances all the key features of each guest. Undertones, eyes, hues.. they all marinate together and make each head so unique 🫶🏼
