CHEERS TO BEING VULNERABLE- and to the confidence it takes to do so. My hope is that sharing this helps other women love themselves through every season of life’s journey.
In this photo I was down to 93 pounds - 15+ pounds under my natural weight. Not by choice. It was my third exposure to toxic mold.
The extreme weight loss on my already small frame left my expressive face and naturally aging features more pronounced.
Muscle atrophy, loose skin, and visible aging were undeniable. The old me would have criticized herself for how it changed my body and appearance.
My first mold exposure was in 2016. It took 10 years and multiple doctors - both traditional and holistic — to finally get on the path to healing. Wendy and her team Well Naturally Holistic Health were my last hope- and the best decision I made.
The suffering I experienced behind the scenes, on and off for 10 years, was unbearable at times. Weight loss was just one effect toxic mold had on my body.
When it first happened, I was devastated and insecure. At the time, I was using Botox this helped to hide how the weight loss made my face appear.
As I got deeper into healing and cut out everything toxic I possibly could, it started to weigh on me that I was injecting something unnatural into my face for vanity. Stopping was challenging at first.
Ironically, I now feel more beautiful looking at my aging face than I ever did when it was frozen.
There came a point in the last 10 years when I realized feeling well and being well mattered more than how I looked on the outside. Ending my physical suffering became the only priority. That’s when I truly began to love myself stopped being so hard on me.
We all go through trials. When we suffer - in whatever form - it shows on our face.
But if we’re patient and kind to ourselves, the season passes. The stress fades. Our glow returns.
I don’t let society or social media dictate how I view myself.
Today I embrace every wrinkle and every change in my body as they come and go. There’s more to life than fretting over outside perfection.
