Not all acids function the same way on the skin, and they don’t pe*****te to the same depth. Each one is formulated to work within a specific layer, targeting different concerns, which is why selection matters.

Ingredients like glycolic acid, lactic acid, retinol, and ferulic acid are focused on refining texture, promoting cell turnover, and improving the visible signs of aging. These are corrective, results-driven actives designed to create change within the skin.

Others, including tranexamic acid, phytic acid, mandelic acid, and azelaic acid, take a more targeted approach—helping to reduce hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven tone without causing unnecessary irritation.

For acne-prone or congested skin, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, and mandelic acid work to decongest pores and calm inflammation. Meanwhile, lactobionic acid and gluconolactone provide gentle exfoliation while also hydrating, soothing, and strengthening the skin barrier.
