The Wig Rockin Grandma

Good morning, friends! ☀️

I am extra excited today because I get to meet so many of the wonderful people I’ll be working with this school year! This morning is my CPI certification class, and it really makes it feel like the new school year is just around the corner. It’s hard to believe how quickly summer has flown by!

Today, comfort is the name of the game, so Miss Fancy is taking a little break while I wear my trusty Raquel Welch Top Billing 5-inch topper in the beautiful RL 6/8 shade. Some days call for glamorous hair… and some days call for “Let’s keep it comfy while we learn!” 😂

I’m looking forward to meeting new faces, learning new things, and getting ready for another amazing year with some very special little learners. Here’s to fresh starts, new adventures, and making a difference one day at a time!

Well… the Wig Rockin’ Grandma almost got herself into trouble last night! 😂

Out of nowhere I got a serious case of “I NEED A NEW WIG-ITIS!” I was browsing online, admiring all the pretty ladies, and my finger kept wandering toward that “Add to Cart” button.

Then my budget politely reminded me…

“Absolutely not.” 🤣

So instead of shopping online, I decided to shop in the most dangerous store of all…

MY OWN WIG CLOSET!

Y’all… I forgot how many treasures I had hiding in there! It was like walking into a boutique where everything was already paid for! Now THAT is my kind of shopping! 😂

Today’s winner is Miss Liza, and honestly, it feels like she’s been wondering if I forgot she existed. Well, she’s back and ready to strut her stuff!

The best part? Today is birthday shopping day with my almost-9-year-old grand niece, and she’ll be thrilled because, to her, Miss Liza is simply “the purple wig!” 💜

Miss Liza is Ellen Wille Talia Mono in the beautiful Black Cherry Mix shade. She made the long trip from Germany when I ordered her from Chiquel online several months ago, and she’s still just as light, airy, and full of personality as ever.

I’ve also learned a few styling tricks since I first got her last spring, so she’s looking a little wilder these days. I like to think she’s been hanging out in the closet planning her comeback tour! 😄

Well folks… today kicks off Birthday Week for this Wig Rockin’ Grandma! 🥳🎉

I’m starting the week with Miss Amelia! She is a Jon Renau Ivy in the gorgeous Shaded Mocha color, and she is one of my absolute favorites. She’s incredibly comfortable and always makes me feel ready to tackle the day!

This morning I have some online training to finish for school, and then it’s off to yoga! 🧘‍♀️ As much as I love Miss Amelia, she’ll be taking a little break while my trusty Envy topper steps in for class. Some adventures just call for a topper! 😂

And tomorrow is going to be extra special! My soon-to-be 9-year-old Grand Niece shares birthday week with me, and we’re heading out for a fun day of birthday shopping together. I have a feeling there will be lots of laughs, a little spoiling, and maybe even a sweet treat or two! 💕🍨🍦

Miss Rachel is joining Hubby and me today, and she seemed like the perfect choice for a day that’s all about fresh starts.

This summer we’ve been exploring new places, trying new things, and reminding ourselves that it’s never too late to step outside our comfort zone. I think that’s one of the best parts about this season of life. Every new experience is an opportunity to learn, grow, and make new memories.

Miss Rachel is my Jon Renau Kyla in the beautiful shade Caramel Ribbon (6F27). If you’ve been following along, you know she was named after Rachel Green from Friends. She has just the right mix of confidence and fun—exactly the kind of energy I wanted to start this Sunday with!

Sometimes a fresh start is something big, and sometimes it’s as simple as a new day, a new adventure, a new perspective, or even a different hairstyle. Life has taught me that we don’t have to wait for January 1st to begin again. Every morning gives us another chance to embrace what’s ahead with hope and gratitude.

Here’s to new beginnings, open hearts, and making the most of whatever today brings.

Tomorrow is August 1st, which means it’s time to introduce my August Wig of the Month! Of course, she’s from my favorite brand, and let me just say… this gal is FANCY! ✨

Today this Grandma is feeling LAZY… and I’m not even going to apologize for it! 😂

I’m heading to my 4th yoga class this week 🧘‍♀️, so the trusty topper is on, and honestly… it’ll probably stay on most of the day! It’s just too easy when I have to spend part of today completing online training for my school CPI certification.

But tonight is a whole different story!

I’m meeting up with a friend who’s in town from Chicago, and we’re going to a choral concert. 🎶 I bet some of you didn’t know that this Grandma absolutely LOVES singing in choirs… and I love listening to them just as much!

Of course, a special evening calls for a full wig, so now I need your help…
