Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright, has shared details of the arrest of teenage boy following a viral video involving a 16-year-old girl who was s xually a§§aulted in a hotel.

According to the girl, she went to the hotel after one of the boys, whom she described as a friend, offered to pay her transport fare. She said three boys were initially in the room, adding that two of them eventually had s x with her.

The teenager stated that the two boys had s x with her eight times despite knowing she was menstruating. She said she pleaded with them but they continued. She also disclosed that she later left the hotel while the boys were asleep.

One of the suspects, also 16, however, gave a different account, claiming he had s x with the girl twice while his accomplice, Goodluck, did so three times. He also said the girl did not tell them she was on her period before the incident.

The police spokesperson questioned the teenagers over the circumstances surrounding the incident and expressed concern that both the suspects and the victim are minors.

He also revealed that one of the boys was involved in internet fra¥d, with the teenager admitting that he and his younger brothers engaged in Yahoo.

Speaking on the case, Edafe said,“Their both parents have failed them. It’s very, very sad. Please, if you know you don’t have what it takes to take care of a child, beg in gospel, don’t bring that child to this world.”

He further warned that the law would take its course, stressing that being a minor does not automatically exempt a person from legal consequences.

The Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit has arrested and formally charged 19-year-old Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola of Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom, in connection with the seizure of 23.4 kilogram$ of suspected coca1n3.

Oduola was charged with possession, trafficking and intent to supply co***ne, as well as attempting to export coca1n3.

The suspected coca1n3 has an estimated street value of one million, one hundred and seventy thousand Barbados dollars. Oduola is scheduled to appear before the District 'B' Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 2nd, 2026.

Lagos Coastal Road Crash Claims One Life, Leaves Three Inj¥red In Victoria Island

A fatal road crash along the Coastal Road in the Victoria Island area of Lagos has claimed one life and left three others seriously inj¥red. The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday and involved a grey Lexus Jeep 350.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said preliminary information showed that the vehicle lost control, crashed into a roadside pole and overturned.

Three people sustained serious inj¥ries, while one person d ed in the crash.

LASTMA operatives monitoring traffic along the Coastal Road quickly arrived at the scene, secured the area and coordinated emergency assistance.

The three inj¥red victims were rescued from the wreckage with the help of Good Samaritans and taken to Duck-Yard Hospital within the Military Zone for medical treatment.

Security personnel from Victoria Island also provided reinforcement, while LASTMA officers removed the badly damaged vehicle from the road to prevent another collision and restore normal traffic flow.

LASTMA Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, said relevant emergency and security agencies were involved in the rescue, investigation and safety procedures.

TRAGIC INCIDENT: A female police inspector, identified as Mercy Bassey, has died after being hit by a vehicle that reportedly fled the scene while she was on route-lining duty ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s arrival in Lagos.

According to a report by The PUNCH, the incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Adekunle Intersection on the Third Mainland Bridge, inward Lagos Island.

Bassey, who was attached to the Ikotun Divisional Police Station, was reportedly struck by a black Toyota Highlander SUV while crossing the road. The driver allegedly sped off despite patrol officers pursuing the vehicle.

The officer was rushed to General Hospital, Ebute Metta, but reportedly died while awaiting treatment.

A security source said the vehicle’s registration number and the driver’s identity were still unknown. Police were reportedly seeking CCTV footage to help identify the driver and make an arrest.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the incident but declined to comment further.

The incident happened as security agencies were deployed for the President’s movement following his return to Lagos from abroad.

37-yr-old Man arrested for r@ping a 70-yr-old woman in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man over the alleged r@pe of a 70-year-old woman in Igueben, Edo State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, revealed this on Wednesday while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements over the past week.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor, she confirmed that the suspect was being detained as investigations continued.

She stated, “Regrettably, s+xual v+olence remains a serious concern. The Command has in custody a 37-year-old male suspect in connection with the alleged r@pe of a 70-year-old woman in Igueben.”

29-Year-Old Mother Arrested for Leaving Four Children, Including a 2-Month-Old, Home Alone for 4 Days to Go on a Cruise Ship to the Bahamas

A 29-year-old Florida mother, Nathalie Belizaire, has been arrested after allegedly leaving her four young children alone at home for several days while she went on a cruise to the Bahamas.

Belizaire reportedly left the children at her North Miami Beach apartment on Friday and boarded the Carnival Conquest. She was arrested Monday after returning from the four-day trip and was met by North Miami Beach police officers.

Police said the father of her two-month-old baby became concerned after seeing Belizaire post about her cruise on social media. She allegedly told him that all four children were staying with their great-grandmother.

According to the arrest report, the father went to the apartment Saturday night and noticed the television was on and could hear the children inside, but Belizaire was nowhere to be found. First responders eventually entered the home and found all four children without adult supervision, with the siblings reportedly hiding together in a bathroom.

Authorities have not disclosed the ages of all four children, but confirmed that one is two months old and another is two years old.

Police alleged that Belizaire had arranged for their great-grandmother to care for them, but investigators said the woman told them Belizaire never brought the children to her. Belizaire also allegedly instructed her brother by text to check on the children during the weekend.

Her attorney said Belizaire denies the allegations, while Belizaire herself declined to give investigators a statement and invoked her right to remain silent.

She is facing four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm and was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Former Manchester City footballer Courtney Meppen-Walter has died aged 32. Bury Football Club, one of a number of clubs he played for, confirmed his sudden death in a statement issued on social media on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old South Carolina mother, Taylor Gosnell, has been arrested after allegedly st@bbing her two children, aged 6 and 3, in a vi%lent att@ck inside their home in Spartanburg.

Authorities said the children suffered approximately 50 st@b wounds between them, with some of the injuries reportedly cutting down to the bone. The 6-year-old sustained particularly severe injuries and could face possible amputation of some fingers and potentially an arm because of the extent of the wounds.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, investigators believe Gosnell used a kn+fe and a blunt object during the att@ck.

The children were found alone and covered in bl@od after deputies responded to the home around 2:30 p.m. Saturday following a welfare check. Their grandmother and Gosnell’s ex-boyfriend had reportedly gone to the house after the 6-year-old called his grandmother saying he was hungry.

Both children were rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where they were described as being in stable condition and expected to recover.

Authorities also reported finding bl@od throughout the house, while televisions and mirrors had allegedly been damaged, leaving broken glass and debris scattered around the property.

Gosnell reportedly returned home shortly after the children were discovered and appeared distressed and was speaking rapidly. She was taken to an ambulance for a mental health evaluation but allegedly attempted to escape and had to be handcuffed to a stretcher.

She was denied bond and faces two counts of attempted m¥rder, with additional charges for possession of a we@pon during a vi%lent crime.
