I had so much fun talking to this new client - She came in wanting more chunky dimension. She felt like she was all one tone. We achieved chunkier, more dimension in one appointment, but let me tell you, it made me sweat 🤣. During the consultation I asked about previous color, and upon inspecting her hair, it looked like the dark was pretty even. Hair can trick you once you put bleach on it though! When I checked the 1st foil, it was the most banded uneven lift I've ever seen. I had to reapply bleach in some ereas and wipe it off in others. I did this process over and over in each foil. I Trusted the process and kept rechecking foils for even, healthy lift. The end turned out good, however not exactly what we were truly going for. (We can save that for next appointment) Sometimes unexpected results happen to all hairstylists. I'm thankful for years of experience to help me pull off great hair in a surprise situation. This post is to all hairstylist out there, bc we've all been there 🫶

Mostly solid brunette, turned soft & dimensional. I removed application after application of dark color. It’s more work than just throwing in highlights and toner.

Dark hair has many different zones, and lifting color out has to be done keeping each zone in mind for an even end result like this.

Giving off supermodel vibes. Her natural level is very dark, but you'd never know it with this beautiful blend 🥹.

This took 2 sessions to get the look we were going for. Sometimes great hair takes time, patience and trust in me, to get you to your goal.

The second photo is where she started at the 1st session. The before photo is also a good example as to why we don't always want to do just a partial. I personally think that having the top so light and the bottom so dark, makes the hair look unnatural. It's important to pay attention to the ends and not just the top of the head.
