Quiet Moments offers therapeutic massage, including Swedish, Myofascial Release, CranioSacral, Attunement and Reiki energy therapies.
The original Quiet Moments opened in 1997 in Merriam, Kansas. The goal was to establish a massage therapy practice that promoted massage as a way to combat stress and relieve muscle tension. The motto has always been, "massage for stress reduction and relaxation." In 2007, Meg moved her practice to Liberty, Missouri. The location may have changed, but the goal has not, to help people understand that massage can be relaxing and still be therapeutic. It is estimated that stress today can cause or aggravate 90% of today's illnesses, including elevated blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and even obesity. Massage doesn't begin and end with pain relief. Massage has many other health related benefits including lowering blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and help relieve anxiety and depression. It also helps remove toxins and waste from the muscles. It can also, in some instances help to stimulate the immune system. I feel it's only fitting I give a shout out of gratitude to this special guy. John(taken on Kauai) has supported me and my pursuit of massage therapy from the very beginning. He bought me my first portable massage table. He has encouraged me with words and financially when growing my private practice. He even allowed me to practice new techniques on him. What a guy.
He has helped me paint several offices along the way and move offices as well.
I'm not sure I could have done this without him. I know it would have been much harder and not nearly as much fun!
Twenty-nine years as a massage therapist and John has had my back and stood beside me the entire time. I am so grateful!

The days are getting shorter, as is my time at Quiet Moments. September 25th I will say my final goodbyes.

These are my volunteer marigolds. There are about 2 dozen that popped up in the yard from last year's plantings.
They remind me of the resilience of people. They might show up in what we consider inconvenient places, but even if transplanted, with a little love and care they can thrive.
