This one is mostly a myth but keep reading...
“traction alopecia” this form of hair loss can occur when you constantly wear tightly braided hair, dread locks, or tight pony tails. Hats don’t usually pull the hair, but a very tight hat that puts pressure on the scalp or pulls the hair may. Over time this will cause scarring and miniaturization of the hair follicles. Hairs become super-fine or just stop growing. So let’s say you notice hair loss and begin wearing tightly fitted hats because you’ve become self conscious about it you might actually be speeding up your hair loss through Traction Alopecia.
