Thinking about a big color change?
While we all love a total transformation, I always advocate for a realistic approach to keep your hair healthy and beautiful.
In the case of my lovely client, we spent the last year working with permanent dark brown and semi-permanent red. That’s a significant amount of pigment to lift!
To ensure we maintained her gorgeous length without compromising the integrity of the hair, we opted for a warm, sun-kissed caramel.
It's the perfect, gentle first step toward a lighter look while keeping your hair strong and shiny.

What’s your dream hair goal for the season?

A little refresh and brightening up the brown for Summer 🌞.

Subtle changes can really change the overall look. Just added a few ribbons of highlights through the brown so it didn't feel so dark for the season.

We love a good fade out 😍.
This is what 8 weeks of vivid fading looks like when:
▫️Washing in cold water
▫️Using good shampoo
▫️Minimal to no heat

I promise I don't suggest these things to torture you, I suggest them because they work! Vivid hair isn't cheap, why wouldn't you want to protect your investment?

Let's talk lighting. Especially with blonde hair.

Would you believe me this is the same head of hair just the first one is in the front of the salon, with the front door open (my go to spot for pictures) and the next one is at my chair.
Blondes specifically are going to absorb whatever light they're around, so if you're in yellow lights, guess what? Your blonde is going to look yellow. Indirect natural light is your best option to see your color at its best.
And while we're on the subject, brunettes will look red in direct sunlight even if there is zero red in their formula.

It is rare these days that I get to fix a haircut because everyone comes to me with their color corrections (which I love) but I also love a haircut fix too 😍
Blunt haircuts aren't for everyone and not for every hair texture. Layers are a good thing to add movement and volume without necessarily losing length.

Stay tuned for the next post when I talk about how much of a difference lighting makes, especially with blondes.

Going from a traditional highlight to a balayage isn't for everyone but boy does it help with those roots growing in.
Sometimes people worry about losing their brightness but I promise you, you will still look like a blonde even if your root is showing. Also, bleaching your hair every 8 weeks isn't ideal. By going more lived in, you can go months in between bleaching sessions and just keep up with root touch ups and toners. We love healthy hair around here!

Lived in is just the way to go 😍

I was having a hard time putting my brand into words so I asked Chat GPT to do it for me! And I love the response I got.

I definitely like to take my time and educate everyone on products, their hair type and helpful hints for styling (without just trying to sell product you probably won't use). As well as managing expectations because a lot of what I do is transformational color.

Do you think it hit the nail on the head?

It's about that time to refresh your blonde!
I know with the current weather it doesn't seem like spring/summer and sun is coming but it is! Let's get that blonde you've been neglecting all winter right and ready to go!
