ORCA Ocean Reef Community Association

ORCA's Public Safety Department and Fire-Rescue Division invite the Ocean Reef community to a brief remembrance ceremony on Friday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. marking the 25th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

This year the event will take place indoors at the Ocean Reef Cultural Center Theater. Together, we will honor the victims and recognize the bravery and sacrifice of our First Responders.

Celebrating ORCA’s Quarterly Awards Recipients

At our 2026 Mid-Year Award Ceremony, ORCA celebrated three outstanding recipients whose hard work, dedication and teamwork make a difference in our community.

4th Quarter 2025 — Robert Regalado, IT Systems Administrator
Robert was recognized for consistently demonstrating service excellence, readily assisting with IT questions and technical issues, going above and beyond to provide guidance, and helping others understand and succeed.

1st Quarter 2026 — Front Gate Team, Public Safety
The Front Gate Team was recognized for its vigilance, professionalism and teamwork. Under the leadership of Sgt. Jose Diaz, the team effectively prevented 31 unauthorized access incidents while consistently upholding security protocols and contributing to the safety and security of our community.

2nd Quarter 2026 — Lt. Enrique Arias, ORCA Fire-Rescue Division
Enrique Arias was recognized for his continued dependability, initiative, teamwork and leadership. He went above and beyond to support his department and the community, played an important role in the successful outfitting of the new rescue truck, and pursued professional development to better serve his team and community.

Congratulations to all on your well-deserved recognition! Thank you for all you do.

The Ocean Reef Community Association (ORCA), located in North Key Largo, FL, has a Full-time position available for an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist Il.

In this role, you’ll support financial operations across ORCA, NKLUC, ORVFD, ORCAT, and Friends of the Dog Park, including:

• Processing cash receipts, AR, and revenue collection
• Preparing billing and monthly account reconciliations
• Handling AP invoices and expense reimbursements
• Managing monthly close and generating statements/invoices
• Resolving vendor and customer billing issues
• Supporting the annual financial audit
• Driving process improvements and documentation

It's National Mosquito Control Awareness Week — though frankly, we're constantly aware of mosquitoes at Ocean Reef come summertime.

Did you know the Florida Keys host 50+ mosquito species, with the Black Saltmarsh Mosquito leading the pack? Controlling them starts right at home, and it helps protect our most vulnerable neighbors — kids, pregnant women, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.

Do your part:
* Dump standing water (bird baths, pots, buckets, tarps)
* Clear out gutters & downspouts — a favorite breeding spot
