I’m not one to post about bad service but lately I’m getting very tired of being treated disresiectlfuly, rudely or just plain no service or bad service for the inflated prices we are being charged almost everywhere now! It’s time to speak up I’ve had enough ! So once a week usually errand day in town , my friend and I go after to enjoy a nice lunch out . It’s our treat for the week . Now we’ve quit going to two of our favorite places , or I should say they once were our places to go ! Kahului doesn’t have a lot of nice places to eat lunch anyway but now Bistro Casanova is off our suggested places to eat !We frequented it often spending $50 to $70 just on lunch. But last time there we were
charged $17 for a wilted spinach salad , which amounted to 1/4 cup of spinach on a plate with a few pine nuts on it !!! When we asked the server how this could be ? her answer was not to talk to the owner, or credit us any amount , but to say oh well. That’s our spinach salad. Im a fair person always pleasant but as no one addressed this issue or tried to we no longer will eat there . So we took our business over to Bridget and Bernard’s in Kahului . We have had great meals and usually our server was pleasant kind and fun last three times .Today she was unbelievable rude ! We always spend about $30 on an entree , $10 on a salad and share it. We do not ask the restaurant to split it so no trouble for them . We are fine sharing a plate of food . It’s enough for two of us older ladies and we usually get a glass of wine each $12 -$15 . So we still spend about $65 plus tip Today our server announced we no longer are allowed to share a meal ???? She stated the cook said so? When I said to her it’s alot of food for one , for us anyway , we like to share amd what difference does that make to the cook? If we order one or three meals or whatever we are paying for it ? my friend said she was on a limited income (a pension ) but we still enjoyed a meal out once a week , and could afford if we shared . It was still $30 each for lunch and we always made sure we could afford a tip this way too. She didn’t even listen or answer us but stomped away . She delivered our two glasses of wine and walked away when we were trying to ask her if we were even going to get our meal .. We had ordered the entree but after that we weren’t even sure if our order was coming . We prepared to leave the money for our wine and we were going to get up and leave when she walks out with our lunch . She looked at us , I said well we were leaving it didn’t sound like you were going to bring us our lunch . She was very short and curt and just said will there be anthing else ? We asked nothing of them extra , not to split it and we paid for what we ordered . What if I only took one bite and took it home ?? Is that not ok too? Or shared it with a child or homeless person outside . What business is that of hers??? By not speaking out this is not ok ! what are we are allowing to happen here on Maui ? . I’m not saying I’m sorry to post this , and to speak up . something has to be done , it’s time to speak up about these gouging prices for one , lack of service , and now downright rudeness. We don’t need to spend our $65 to $75 hard earned $ for lunch in either of these places , that’s fine , and I will encourage you and others all to stop puting up with this! We should never support businesses that make people feel bad for eating there !!!
