Thick hair and coarse hair are not the same, even though they are often confused.

Thick hair

Refers to how much hair you have on your scalp
Describes hair density, meaning many strands growing close together
Hair can be thick but still feel soft or fine
Coarse hair

Refers to the width of each individual strand
Each strand is larger and rougher in texture
Hair can be coarse even if you do not have a lot of it
Key difference

Thick hair describes quantity, while coarse hair describes texture.

In summary, thick hair means more strands, and coarse hair means wider strands. A person can have one, the other, or both.

Hair loss, the longer it is ignored, the longer it will take to heal.

I have a problem when people do videos and say things like… A bald spot or a spot that has fine hairs in the follicles and thinning hair is not alopecia to an audience that you're supposed to be giving knowledge to. It is Alopecia (hair loss) and there are several types of it. Let’s do better in 2026 and stop handing out misinformation.
