Not exfoliating regularly either 1-2 or 2-3 times a week (depending on your skin type), causes dead skin to build up, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. Exfoliating as you should for your skin type, helps to get rid of the buildup of dirt, and dead skin, and increases the cellular turnover rate.
