Angela Braan had a vision that went beyond the salon chair. She wanted to create a space where future cosmetologists could learn and thrive!

Angela first came to the Kingsport TSBDC (Kosbe - The Small Business Connection) in 2016 with the goal of transitioning from employee to entrepreneur. With help from TSBDC consultant Aundrea Salyer, she developed a clear business strategy, explored succession planning, and tackled the challenges of scaling beyond the salon chair.

She didn’t stop at opening her own salon though… She expanded her success to create the Kingsport Academy Of Hair Design, a full-service salon academy that's now empowering the next generation of cosmetologists.
