Mississippi State Penitentiary (MSP) at Parchman Unit 31 Book Club was honored to receive a surprise visit from Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, author of Chain Gang All Stars, a bestseller, and their current book club selection.
Carla Falkner of the Mississippi Humanities Council and Jeremiah Smith, the book club's facilitator, also attended. The 9-member book club is sponsored by the Mississippi Humanities Council.
The inmate readers meet once a week on Thursdays.
