Gray coverage doesn’t have to take all afternoon.

For the client who wants her roots covered beautifully but doesn’t have hours to spend in the salon, I now offer express color options.

My 10-minute permanent color is ideal for clients who want strong gray coverage, without the traditional processing time. Redken’s express formula can provide up to 100% gray coverage in just 10 minutes.

That means many of my fine-haired clients can be in and out in around 40 minutes, while thicker hair typically takes about 50–60 minutes.

I also offer a 20-minute ammonia-free gray blending option for clients who don’t necessarily want every gray completely erased. This has become a favorite with many of my brunettes because it gives a softer result, grows out more gracefully, and because we aren’t lifting the natural hair the same way traditional permanent color can, I can often keep unwanted red and brassy tones to a minimum.

Which one is for you?

10 minute color → I want my gray covered. Get me in, get me out.
20 minute color → I want my gray softened and blended with a more natural grow-out.

Because sometimes the best salon appointment is the one that gives you beautiful hair and the rest of your day back.
