As promised, I wanted to introduce you guys to some safe people in the La Crosse area. I just want everyone to feel taken care of. I loved providing that safe space where people can unmask, stim, feel heard, seen, valued, uplifted and celebrated for who they are and I want to help everyone find that space again with someone else. Loren is taking over my space, but he is booking up fast, so I asked a few other people in the area to answer some short questions to share with you all. Then you guys can pick who you feel drawn to see if Loren's schedule doesn't work for you or if you feel like you'd vibe better with someone else!

I'm so happy with my sign. Jim from Sign Pro did such a good job!! I was worried about how to incorporate my logo into the sign, since the sign cabinet is an odd shape, but the logo as the 'I' in Misfits is fu***ng genius. Hopefully the previous business's font fades quick🤞 The Virgo in me isn't thrilled about that..... but I HAVE A SIGN!!

ALSO! Logo credit goes to my tattoo artist Mike !! And it's tattooed on my leg🥰🧟‍♀️✂️ Most of my tattoos are from Mike. He's amazing!!

Turned over the keys to my studio today. What a bittersweet feeling. I managed to preserve my logo window decal and put it in my notebook along with my business sticker I had on my mailbox. I also kept this post-it note. I wrote my name down on this post-it 2 months before I came out as Felix. I put it above my color bar sink and looked at it every single day at work. After a few weeks of seeing it every day, I knew it was right for me. I decided to keep it up and just took it down today. It will be stored away in this notebook and will come with me on my journey.

I realized I was trans staring in the mirror in this studio. I picked out my name while cleaning up color bowls and implements at my color bar. I became more and more myself every day here. I met so many incredible people and I got to provide a safe and inclusive space in this studio. I will cherish this place forever. The end of a chapter, the end of a book. Time to start writing the new one. I am grateful.

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that Misfits Hair Studio is now closed. I have decided to start a new journey in the UK. I've always wanted to leave the country and I have felt drawn to the UK for several reasons. When I look at photos from there, it feels like home. I can't stop thinking about it and I know that's for a reason.

I didn't think I would be able to make this happen since my studio lease goes until September 2026, but when a friend told me that they were looking for a bigger space for their hair business, we started talking more about the possibility of them taking over my lease. And now that it's official, I am also announcing that Loren Lifka is taking over starting December 1st!

Loren (he/they) is a brilliant hair artist who also enjoys all the edgy, bold hair that I enjoy doing. They are also incredibly kind, genuine and funny. I just know all of my clients that love me, will love them. Check them out on IG! &

With that being said, Loren has their own clientele and won't be able to take all of my clients right away since they will book up fast, so I have reached out to other service providers in La Crosse who are safe people. I asked them to answer some questions to share with you all. I know how hard it can be to find someone you vibe with who also does the services you're looking for, and I want to help my clients through that. I know some amazing people and it'll give you guys options in case Loren's schedule doesn't work for them. I will post these individuals on here soon.

It's been an incredible 2 years at Misfits. Being my own boss has been the best decision I ever made. Working alone has helped me to tap back into who I am at my core. Being able to dress, decorate and act however I want and be my authentic self allowed me to unmask and pour back into me. I stopped trying to fit into molds that weren't mine. Misfits was my safe space away from home. I realized I was trans staring into the mirror in this studio. I gave so many people their first gender affirming haircut in this studio. This studio helped heal me and so many others.

I am grateful and honored to have met everyone I've met through Misfits. I have been living the life I manifested years ago. I have a clientele full of people in the LGBTQIA+ community, neuorspicy people, the goths, the punks, the metalheads, the activists, the artists and the misfits. I've made close friends who started off as clients. I have several mom clients who make me feel loved and seen. Some of you have been with me since before I transitioned and before I opened Misfits and have supported me every step of the way. I am so lucky to have had you all in my corner. You are all amazing. I will miss every single one of you. Thank you all so much. The memories I've made in this space will stay with me forever.

I will be having a going away party tomorrow, Sunday November 30th 2pm-5pm. There are still some items available for people to take. I have a desk for sale as well as my hair chair. There will be snacks and N/A beverages. Please do not bring me any gifts since I am packing light! Unless it's something small like a sticker or card. ❤️ Hope to see you all tomorrow!

This is also the artist of the new huge work of art I have the pleasure of having in my studio! I fell in love with this piece at her art show and she suggested it could have a new home here at Misfits!! I was so happy I would have cried if testosterone let me lol
