William Child, primary author on this case report, shares the story behind treating a ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ but wasn't chasing a return to sport โ she just ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐ด๐ฒ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ผ ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด. Can online-delivered pain neuroscience education (PNE) change fear-avoidance beliefs or functional performance in young adults with knee pain? This pilot study of 19 participants found online PNE was feasible and well received, but showed no significant impact on FABQ or Y-Balance Test scores. The authors use these findings to lay groundwork for future, adequately powered research โ estimating a sample size of 128 would be needed to fully assess PNE's effect.
