Fun fact: I gave myself a panic attack before the very first class I ever hosted.
Swear. 🫠
Because I was confident at being a good artist, but that didn’t automatically make me a good educator.
I had to learn how to teach- how to explain things I had started doing intuitively, how to break down technique clearly, and how to communicate in a way that actually helps someone else apply it to their own work.
That has been its own skill to develop, separate from the artistry itself.
So receiving feedback like this is everything.
It’s a reminder that the work I’ve put into becoming a better educator is translating, and that I’m doing what I set out to do: help other artists move the needle forward in their own work. 🤍

Thank you for every birthday wish, message, hug, and to everyone who took the time to celebrate with me.
Being surrounded by people I love made turning 40 feel less like a milestone I was supposed to have feelings about (even though I really did!) and more like a reminder of how full my life already is.
