Hi, it's Me.

I ran numbers tonight to see how MagnoliaWax has done in its first 6 months. I am humbled to see so plainly the fruits of the work I have put in. To see a dream coming true when I never knew it was meant for me. When I first started this journey someone asked me, “what are you going to do if you fail?”. I answered honestly that I would learn from the mistake and try again. That I would never be starting from scratch ever again. I have 5 years in the waxing industry and that’s what I started MagnoliaWax with.

No more direction other than wanting to be in control of my career and professional life in such a way that my personal life could be intertwined, not compartmentalized. I want you to see my babies. My dog. Hear the crazy stories.

See, this goes so far beyond getting hair removed. It’s about connection. Community. Supporting one another in our dreams, our hopes, our fears. Going through this crazy beautiful life with the confidence that can only come with knowing we are not alone. We can find love, friendship, kindness, support, in the unlikeliest of places. A wax studio. Where you come in to have a service done and end up finding so much more. Yes, I will get you that smooth skin you desire. But I will also be there when you find yourself for the first time. When you meet your soul mate. When you get married. Have babies. Start school. Finish school. I will listen to your travel stories. I will cry with you when you feel loss and sadness and despair. I will hug you when you feel alone (I always ask permission, I’m not a weirdo). I will always, always, A L W A Y S encourage you to do that thing that scares the crap out of you. Because more than likely, it’s what you’re meant to do. Absence of fear is not bravery, bravery is leaning into the fear and not letting it stop you. Not to toot my own horn, but I was TERRIFIED to leave the comfort and stability of my corporate job. But my soul was dying. My passion was dying. I wanted to quit.

And then I said F that. I’m just going to do the damn thing myself.

I cannot wait to share with you what’s coming this year. I cannot wait to see what you accomplish this year. It’s going to be amazing. And we’re in it together.

Jonah asked me what my favorite part of 2022 was. Out of all the hard things overcome, the goals achieved, the leaps taken, favorite part? Hands down, my babies. The 3 curly haired ones and the fur ball.
