It is with sadness that I announce the passing of my mentor, the father of myofascial release, John F Barnes. I was intrigued by his work when it was introduced to me in college in 1995. After attending my first seminar series with John in the spring of 2015 I knew that this work, the John Barnes approach to Myofascial Release®️ (JFB MFR), was what I was being called to do, but I had no idea how John's work was going to impact me nor how God was going to use it to change my life and my career. In response to a comment that I made at that first seminar series, I remember John telling me that this, JFB MFR, would strengthen my faith. He was absolutely right! There were many times that I would leave a seminar with a deepened faith and closer relationship with Christ.
I am so grateful for John, his life's work, his dedication to teaching it, and the love that he showed to all of us, the JFB MFR family. He will be greatly missed!💜
John's current favorite artist, Dan Vasc, sings a powerful version of Amazing Grace that John has shared with us at many of the seminars, and I would now like to share it with you.

Changes are coming...
About two months ago I had a sudden onset of neuromuscular symptoms that have progressed to a point where it is affecting my ability to work a full day. I have been going through a variety of tests that, to date, have been inconclusive. The doctors think that it might be an autoimmune disorder.
God has blessed me in so many ways through this work, and I am so grateful that He used me to bless so many of you in ways that only He can. Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you on your paths of healing.
My desire is to continue to provide this amazing work, the John Barnes approach to Myofascial Release®. That being said, I know that I cannot continue to work full days or take on any new clients. My hope is that this will be temporary and that I will once again be able to return to the current schedule. Unfortunately, cutting hours will mean that I cannot see each of you as often as you might desire. I ask that you prayerfully consider what you need at this time with regards to maintenance frequency. For example, if you have been coming every 4 weeks, would you be able to do every 6 or 7 weeks instead, etc. It will be even more important for you to do your self-care home programs regularly.
I have already made some modifications of the schedule throughout the end of this year. Starting in January 2026, the schedule will be as follows:
Tuesday 1:00pm-7:00pm
Wednesday 9:00am-1:30pm
Thursday 12:30pm-6:00pm
Friday 9:30am-2:30pm
With gratitude,
Marsha
Rebounding, self-rebounding/jiggling...I was reminded this week of how beneficial it can be as part of a self-care routine. Shared with permission of my client who had a stroke in the early days of COVID and became my client at that time. She presented with burning neuropathy on the R side of her body and did not like to take the prescribed meds for it. I encouraged her to try jiggling every time that she felt like the neuropathy was returning or getting worse and prior to bedtime (not as bad throughout the day, the worst at bedtime). After consistently jiggling as advised for a few weeks, she was able to stop taking the meds for nerve pain and was only taking a Tylenol at bedtime. Client now also reports having been able to cut BP meds in half and is looking at reducing them again. Client is faithful with her self-care and her monthly appts with me. She just turned 88 years young and has made wonderful progress! Consistency is key!
Thank you, John Barnes, for teaching the gift of myofascial release to so many of us around the world! It and you are a blessing to us all!
Grateful and Blessed,

Always learning, always growing…what a great seminar that I was able to attend last week! It was a repeat for me of the fascial pelvis.
It was unfortunate that John Barnes was unable to teach it, but he has trained some excellent instructors who did a fabulous job!
