Our Summer Institute dove into the Storytelling as Advocacy framework, inviting educators to explore issues close to their hearts, reflect on the broader landscape of education, and consider meaningful ways they can advocate for positive change.
Grounded in the idea of everyday advocacy, we explored how teachers can reshape the narrative around schools and learning through intentional, day‑to‑day actions. As Fleischer & Garcia remind us, “Everyday advocacy is teacher-centered and teacher-driven… the day-to-day actions teachers can take to change the public narrative regarding schools, teachers, and learning” (2021, p.9).
