bless·ed booch (pronounced 'blesid') is a small batch, artisan kombucha based in Laguna Beach, CA.

Kombucha, or "booch", is produced by fermenting sweet tea with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (aka SCOBY). During the fermentation period, the SCOBY metabolizes the sugar, creating fizzy bubbles and transforming the sweet tea into a living health elixir. Kombucha originated 2000 years ago in China, and was known as “The Tea of Immortality”. It contains B vitamins, amino acids, antioxida

Here is the “recipe” for the batch of nopal green goddess in the reel BUT just know I never make it exactly the same way. I just use what I have in hand and season with my heart 💚🌱 ⁣

1 nopal paddle, cleaned and chopped⁣

4 cups loosely packed chopped green herbs- today I’m using parsley, dill, cilantro and Lemon balm⁣

1/2 cup h**p hearts and 1 cup soaked walnuts for creaminess- avocado is also great but I dont have any on hand. Sour cream, Greek yogurt and mayo are all options. ⁣

A few cloves of garlic⁣

Fresh Juice of 2 citrus juice⁣

salt to taste ⁣

any other seasonings or superfoods you like- today I’m using toasted cumin and coriander as well as spirulina⁣

A touch of honey is always nice to balance things with a little sweetness. ⁣

Blend and enjoy!⁣

Quinoa can either be an amazing superfood or a menace to your digestive system.⁣

Start activating it and unlock its true nutritional potential.⁣

The acid soak - cover your quinoa with filtered water and a spash of apple cider vinegar.⁣

The vinegar creates the perfect environment to jump start the breakdown of phytic acid- which is the anti nutrient responsible for reducing nutrient absorption and wreaking havoc on your digestive system.⁣

After 4-6 hours, rinse the quinoa a couple of times before refilling with filtered water for another 4-6hour soak.⁣

Drain, rinse and it’s ready to cook as normal!⁣

Another spring day, another spring bloom⁣

Today I’m going to be distilling lavender for the first time. I’ve grown this plant from a very small start and three years later she’s mature enough for a large harvest. ⁣

The distillation process uses hot steam to guide aromatic compounds out of plant material. ⁣

This process consists of heating water, passing steam through plant matter to v***rize oils, condensing the v***r in a cooling chamber, and separating the oil from the water⁣

Distillation requires a significant amount of plant matter, and once you’ve done it it really makes you reconsider how precious essential oils and hydrosols are. ⁣

Elderflower champagne is such a fun ferment! It harnesses the essence of the Spring and creates a delicious elixir. ⁣

Measurements for 1 Gallon Jar⁣
80g fresh elderflowers ⁣
350g of raw honey⁣
2 large citrus, sliced⁣
1 tablespoons of raw Apple Cider Vinegar⁣
Remineralized RO or spring water⁣

Process⁣
🌼Dissolve Honey in about a quart of warm (not boiling) water until fully dissolved. Boiling water can kill the beneficial properties and wild yeasts in raw honey. High heat also breaks down the molecular structure of honey, forming toxins that are indigestible and cause blockages in the body. ⁣

🌼Add a quart of room temperature water, elderflower, citrus and ACV. Stir, then fill with more water , leaving 2-3 inches of head space in the jar. ⁣

🌼Cover and let sit for 3-4 days, burping and shaking daily. ⁣

🌼Once there is a decent amount of fizz, strain and bottle, leaving 2 inches of head space in each bottle. Let the bottles sit at room temperature for 1 to 3 days to build carbonation, then move to the fridge to stop the fermentation.⁣
