Scar correcting is done in multiple stages to ensure proper healing time. Once we correct tone and texture, we can focus on camouflaging. Think of a painting, when you throw color on top of another color you get a muddy result. We need that scar to be as light as possible before using ink for a flawless result 💕

After 1 of 3 sessions-Patience is key! I am grateful when my clients understand the importance of healing time. It can be up to 8 weeks before we can do another session. We can’t rush this process.

1. Pigmentation (2-3 weeks)
Right after your appointment, the area may look darker or more saturated than expected. This is normal!

2. Redness (Hours–Day 2)
Mild redness around the treated area is common. It’s your skin’s natural response to controlled trauma from the tattooing process.

3. Swelling (Day 1–2)
Some swelling can appear—especially in sensitive or thinner areas of the body. It usually subsides within 24–48 hours.

4. Itchy Stage (Days 3–7)
As the skin starts repairing itself, it may feel itchy. This is a sign of healing. Avoid scratching or picking to protect pigment retention.

5. Flaking / Light Peeling (Days 4–10)
The skin may lightly flake or shed. This is similar to a mild exfoliation. Once this stage ends, the pigment underneath settles into its more natural and realistic tone.
