I treated myself like a sponge.

I listened to anyone who had knowledge to offer. Whether it was about makeup, business, social media, or client experience. I wasn’t trying to be the smartest person in the room; I was trying to learn from everyone.

I did a ton of free work to perfect my craft.

I was constantly booking models, organizing content days, and saying yes to opportunities that gave me more practice. Every free face was an investment in my skills, portfolio, and confidence.

I built relationships instead of competing.

I genuinely connected with other artists, collaborated whenever I could, and supported the people around me. Those relationships eventually turned into referrals, education, mentorships, and opportunities I never would’ve had if I viewed everyone as competition.

Five years later, these are still the three principles I build my business around. I’m still learning from those around me, still investing in my craft, and still prioritizing relationships over competition. No matter how much your business grows, there’s always room to improve— and I believe THAT is what keeps you growing.
