I’ve only been an esthetician for a year. Thankfully in school I took a skin cancer course to help detect skin cancer, and I can’t wait to continue my education learning about the different types of skin cancers.

I’ve had a lot of middle aged clients that never wore SPF when they were younger. I have confidently pointed out spots on clients that needed to be checked and turns out the spots were indeed cancerous. Cancer is definitely a big topic for me from my childhood. It’s something no one wants to go through. Get checked yearly at a dermatologist if you do stay in the sun often, book monthly facials with your esthetician in between and keep up with your skin care routine at home and WEAR SPF🌞🚫

Moral of the story, take care of your skin. Our skin is the biggest organ on our bodies. Don’t risk a life changing disease just to get the temporary tan that you want.🫶🏻
