A little self-care goes a long way. Had a little procedure today, but I won’t let that get me down. Felt yuck and needed a quick pick me up. The biocellulose mask from did the trick. Soothing doesn’t even begin to explain this mask.

Fishing is one of my favorite activities and today was the first time my son was able to partake. We caught one on the first cast and it was so fun to see his excitement! Mine too! Family fun activities can be outdoors. We just try to be conscious about our sun exposure. So seize the day and have a great weekend 😊

Fun fact: Everyone needs sun protection! Even the giraffes 🦒 🦒 Did you ever notice that giraffes have black tongues? I didn’t until recently when we took my son to the zoo. Their tongues are dark purple to black in order to help with sun protection. They are a lot closer to the sun than we are and eat a lot of vegetation throughout the day. So cool! 😛

It’s international women’s day! A global day celebrating the achievements of women. This year’s theme is “Choose to Challenge.” My challenge is to teach my son to respect women as equal, just as his father respects me. It starts at home. It starts with leading by example. 💉👄 I LOVE injecting the lips 👄💉

Lips are one of my absolute favorite areas to inject. It’s also one of my favorite injections on myself. I have the thin top lip syndrome, but hey, it’s okay! A little filler every 6-8 months or so will keep it nice and plump. I don’t have love for a duck lip though. 🚫 🦆 I want to look natural!

The aesthetically pleasing lip comes down to math...again. The perfect lip ratio exists! The top lip should be 1/3 and the bottom lip 2/3. 🔢

Lastly, the most common question- can you feel a difference? No, you shouldn’t be able to feel any difference when you smooch 😘 or smile 😊. You may have bruising and/or lumps/bumps for up to 2 weeks after injection, then everything settles in nice and smooth.

-Product: Volbella 1 syringe
-Time: 30 minutes to numb, 15 minutes to inject
-Downtime: Up to 2 weeks of bruising or swelling. Easy to cover up and most don’t take the entire time.

-How long it lasts: 6-12 months (for most it’s probably ~8 months in my experience)

Triangle of youth ➡️ pyramid of aging 😫 how can we stop it 🛑

Who knew geometry would pay off? We are discussing triangles and pyramids today dermies🔺🔻

The triangle of youth is a phrase to describe the appearance and structure of a youthful face. When looking at a youthful face, you notice high cheek bones, fuller cheeks, and a nice defined jawline. As we become wiser (I hate the term aging 😉), our face starts to turn into a pyramid (inverted triangle) shape. Meaning the face becomes more oval as the cheeks flatten and there is more volume in the lower half of our face (jowls). We attribute this to the loss of fat and bone in the face.

So how to we stop or fix it ➡️ fillers! There are some fillers that are more stiff and even “bone-like” to help with definition and there are other softer fillers to help with more superficial fat loss or pesky wrinkles not responding to relaxant alone.

New vaccination recommendations for patients with a history of dermal fillers:

-Infrequently, persons who have received dermal fillers may develop swelling at or near site of filler injection following vaccine administration. This appears to be temporary and can resolve with medical treatment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-COVID-19 vaccines may be administered to persons who have received injectable dermal fillers who have no contraindications to vaccination . No additional precautions are needed.

-If you do have swelling at or near site of dermal filler following vaccination, you should contact your healthcare provider for evaluation.
