When I started doing hair 8 years ago I always used my friends and family as my models (this is my sister in the pic ☺️) and told them to just tip me what they think the style was worth, going off how I did. Practice made me better! After I did it once I was always good enough to get paid for that service 😉

When I got my license I started doing services for “ FREE “ but in order to get the service they had to refer 5 clients to me... ( just a little trick to get referrals and ultimately build your clientele)

When I started selling hair, now , I offered FREE installs with the purchase of hair. This way I had models, practiced my skills, and made some money off the hair purchase.

I say all this to say just because you have no followers, likes, or clients doesn’t mean you can’t be successful or not worthy to charge top dollar for your craft. There’s so many ways to build your clientele and get paid for it.

Secret editing hack/ Trick:

I actually learned this from a celebrity stylist. I booked an appointment and decided to take some pointers 😉 well this was something they did!

I personally don’t know how to do make up... just the basics... however with one of my favorite apps I can edit my pictures so they come out even better 😱
Sometimes l like to put makeup on my clients faces (just a little bit for market purposes of course 😉)
Now don’t get me wrong, they’re all very beautiful!

How straight you get your hair definitely depends on how you blow dry 😉

One of my hair mentors told me early on, that In order to get a good press or flatiron you have to make sure your blow dry is on point.

I still have my same blow dryer from school 🙃

it’s the only one I’ve used for the past 8 years!.....................
