Normal adult spleen measurement via ultrasound generally shows a length of up to 12–13 cm, a thickness of 4–5 cm, and a width of 6–7 cm, usually in a coronal/longitudinal view. Key measurements include maximum length (capsule-to-capsule), width, and anteroposterior (AP) thickness, with splenomegaly defined by lengths exceeding these, particularly >13 cm in longitudinal planes.

A succenturiate lobe is a rare placental abnormality (\(0.16\%-4.3\%\) of pregnancies) where one or more small, accessory lobes develop separately from the main placenta.
