My business survived the pandemic, which already felt like beating the odds. But just as things started to stabilize, I walked into my salon one morning in January 2021 and found over two feet of water (still rising) inside my space. Years of hard work, financial investments, equipment, and memories…gone…flooded overnight.

What made it even harder was knowing it could have been prevented. For over seven years, we had reported ongoing roof leaks to property management, but nothing was done. And when everything finally gave way, we were left to handle it on our own.

So I did what I’ve always done, I got to work.

Within a matter of months, I relocated, rebuilt, and reopened by April. Not just for me, but for my team. I was able to keep many of my staff employed through one of the most uncertain times in our lives. That mattered more than anything.

I poured everything into that second location. Built it back up. Grew it again. Created a space my clients loved and my team could depend on.

And now, after completing a full five-year lease, I’m facing another relocation, starting over once again. Blessings come in all forms tho 👇🏼

But here’s what I’ve learned: starting over isn’t starting from scratch when you carry experience, resilience, and heart with you.

I’m not just a business owner. I’m a mom, a provider, a leader, and someone who refuses to quit no matter how many times life tries to reset the board.

Every setback I’ve faced has built something stronger in me. And this next chapter? It’s not about surviving it’s about thriving!!!

This week in our new space has been so unbelievably special 🫧 We are truly so happy. The salon feels beautiful, cozy, QUIET (IYKYK) and just right. For the first time in a long time, I feel really good at work again.

Seeing our clients walk in, relax, and love the space as much as we do… that’s everything.
