Recently, a couple of people here have told me that they have had LP for months. They KNOW it is LP because their doctor said so. An average doctor sees a case of LP maybe once every 5 to 10 years. A dermatologist a little more often.
We see about 3 THOUSAND cases every 5 years. We still have no clue what rash you have from looking at a picture or seeing your rash in person. Get a biopsy. That way you KNOW what you have. I don’t care what rash it is, it is always best to know what you are dealing with.
Almost every rash starts with a single spot. It may take some time for more rash to appear. LP starts with a single spot. It may take a couple of weeks for more rash to appear. Then it starts to spread from that patch. Then it might “magically” show up somewhere else on your body with no “connecting” rash. This is because LP is “endemic”- it is inside of you, traveling around in your body and “popping up” wherever it feels like.
If you are on this group, you are looking for the “what, why, and how can I get rid of it”. We have all the latest research we can find. The “what” is probably a virus. The “why” is a stress trigger, most probably. The “get rid of it” is not so easy. We are still learning. Our directions say you should see a visible difference in your rash in about 2 weeks of using LichensEze. LichensEze is about 65.4% effective in healing the rash over a couple of months. Most people give up if they do not see a difference in two weeks or so. I do not blame them a bit! We recently had a client tell us that they had been using it for 5 weeks without any discernable difference, and they had tried using it on a lesion on their lip, but the only thing that happened was the lip lesion was peeling, so they quit using it there…. Guess what? Peeling is a sign it is working! The person said, “Oh! Well, my shoulder started peeling too, so I will keep using it and see what happens”… There are absolutely NO ingredients in LichensEze that would make your skin peel. There are absolutely no ingredients in LichensEze that would make your skin red. If either of these things happen, your lichen planus is reacting to LichensEze in a great way! LichensEze is the ONLY all natural no prescription, no known side effects formula in the world made specifically for lichen planus.
We will continue to look at all available research, and bring that to you as we find it!
Please note that is the first paragraph of this study, it says you cannot diagnose LP just by looking at it. We agree! Get a biopsy.
Interesting study.

Not great news, but interesting that they studied it.

There is a difference between CAUSE and TRIGGER. Cause is now thought to be HHV7. It is estimated that about 98 percent of humans have had these. Researchers believe that LP is to HHV7 what shingles is to chicken pox.
Just so you know, we agree!!!!!!
Triggers are what make you flare. These can be physical or mental stress. What stresses your body physically? New medication, falling down, car accident, going to the dentist for a procedure (cleaning, filling, root canal, ALL or ANY of these), vaccine (any), pregnancy, working out... you get the idea. What stresses your body mentally? Worldwide pandemic, losing a job, a new job interview, upcoming exams, upcoming wedding, death in the family, relationship breakup, new pregnancy (yes it is in both categories), all kinds of stuff!
What can you do? Researchers are not sure yet. For mental stress you can consider meditation. No, pills for depression and stress have not shown any promise.
What can you do to "prevent" a flare? Jury is out on that. Many people take vitamins, take anti stress medications, change their diets. Not many studies for efficacy yet, BUT anything that YOU think makes you feel better is probably helping!
Of course, we recommend LichensEze. All natural, no prescription, no known side effects. It is not a cure, but it does help with the rash when you get a flare, and stop the flare from spreading.

Someone wrote on one of the big LP support groups that they feel left out because they see drugs touted on TV for other skin diseases. I wrote this there, and thought I would share it here:
There is work being done. The pandemic has certainly derailed a lot of science the past couple of years. There is not "much" money in diseases like LP. It is almost never fatal (except for depression and su***de, which I don't think have been studied directly with LP). It is rare- less than 1% of the world's population. It is not something a doctor would get a Nobel prize for curing, like cancer or MS or cystic fibrosis. The "medications" you are seeing are great, but can also be scary: Let's see, I have a nasty rash that itches but is almost never fatal, OR I can take a drug that has side effects like cancer... Sure, doc, let's do it!

We just opened our new brick and mortar store in Lake Jackson, TX. We had a smaller store here, we just moved into a larger space. It is a small community, and we have been here for years.
It is awesome, and warms my soul when someone you don't really know walks in and hugs you. I was told that our formulas are "lifechanging".
