Sometimes, when you’re overwhelmed, exhausted or just plain done with people, the last thing you want to do is talk to another human being.

I get it. ❤️

This little sign hangs in our waiting area at the top of the stairs. It’s there for our massage clients, letting them know we’ll be with them shortly.

But if you’re coming for a Reset Room session, walk right on by!

The Reset Rooms are completely self-access. When your reserved time begins, head into your room, close the door, follow the instructions in the welcome packet on the desk, and make yourself comfortable.

No small talk. No one needing a darn thing from you.

That was really important to me when I created The Reset Room. Because sometimes, even having to make small talk feels like too much when all you want is a little peace and quiet.

My husband is TERRIFIED of heights.

And yet, there he is, at the top of a ladder, helping me put the new Soul Solace window decals up.

Meanwhile, I’m at the bottom doing my very important job of holding the ladder and trying not to think too hard about what could go wrong. 😂

Which job would YOU rather have - top of the ladder or bottom?

Well, we learned something on opening day. 😂

This light switch (and many others in this building) controls lights you would never expect it to control.

This particular one turns on the overhead fluorescent lights in BOTH Reset Rooms.

We know this because the Soul Solace team has accidentally blinded each other many times. 😂

One person is peacefully sitting in a Reset Room 1, curtains drawn, mood lighting on, calm and cozy…

Someone in the other room needs a light to do something and flips a perfectly innocent-looking switch.

💡 HELLOOOOOO.

We knew about this little quirk.

What we didn’t think about was telling our first guests today. 🤦‍♀️

So yes. It happened.

And that is why, as of today, this light switch is sporting a lovely piece of blue painter’s tape. 😂

A couple of years ago, The Reset Room didn’t have a name.

It was just me leaving a bathhouse after 2.5 hours of no phone, no talking and no one needing anything from me… thinking, I wish everyone could have this.

Eventually that thought became an idea.

The idea became two rooms.

And somehow, before those rooms have even officially opened, people have already chosen to make them part of their lives.

That part is still surreal.

To our Founding Members - THANK YOU.

I’m sitting here staring at this screen thinking… how is this actually real?

A few weeks ago, The Reset Room existed mostly in my head.

Tonight I’m testing the screen you’ll use to choose your mood, your sound, your lighting and how you want the room to feel.

There have been approximately 4,782 tiny decisions between the idea and this screen. 😆

And Thursday, someone other than me is actually going to walk into The Reset Room, close the door and use it.

That feels a little surreal.

Also surreal: tomorrow is the very last day to become a Founding Member.

Then Thursday, we open!
