In response to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic sweeping India, CMC has been increasing the number of beds available for Covid-19 patients day by day.

CMC’s Paul Brand Block was opened on Monday, the 5th of April 2021 by Mr. A Shanmuga Sundaram, IAS, Collector of Vellore District. In the long term it will be for orthopaedic surgery. Right now it is needed to treat COVID-19 patients and has 105 beds. It has a 12-bed ICU which will open as soon as we can get the ventilators and other equipment needed. This is extremely urgent. We have 97 Covid ICU beds at the moment, but they are all full.
