Your next favorite 15-minute add-on! I love the scalp treatment because it’s not only nourishing for your scalp and hair, but also an incredibly relaxing experience. The scalp has a lot of sensory nerve endings, so this can help encourage your nervous system to shift into a more relaxed state, leaving your whole body feeling calmer. The scalp is also commonly affected by stress related jaw clenching and teeth grinding, which can contribute to tension in the face, jaw, and neck. It’s the perfect way to melt into your massage.

Massaging the internal jaw muscles that are responsible for opening and closing your jaw can provide relief from jaw tension, clicking, and restrictions. Additionally, many of the neck muscles connect from the mandible/facial area to the chest (clavicle, sternum, hyoid) and can interfere with jaw function. So using cupping, stretching, and focused attention to the scalenes, SCM, and pectorals can significantly improve these common issues.

On the theme of shaking it out 😂

The forearms are the real money makers here, but the hands and tools come in at a quick second.

Always thankful to have a job that provides while loving what I do.

What do massage and b***y shaking have in common?

Both are great for your physical and mental health! We store emotions and trauma in our hips and by moving and shaking, we can release all that tension and calm our nervous system!

Some days I’m a muscle whiz and other days I’m reaching for my anatomy cheat sheet. 😂 There are SO many muscles and layers!

Thankfully, you don’t need me to recite every muscle from memory for your massage to be effective.

Even though those deeper, smaller muscles can be influenced, we’re not directly “working” them. Between the skin, fascia (connective tissue), and larger superficial muscles, massage is primarily providing input to your tissues and nervous system.

That sensory input can help reduce soreness and sensitivity, improve tissue glide, and encourage your body to relax. Your brain and body are constantly communicating and massage is one way to support that messaging. Either way we get the job done 🙌🏼

for the reel inspo 😂 always coming in with the truth!
