Some recent maintenance, extension and woolie work!

Lots of maintenance and extension work lately!
Thank you to my wonderful clients, turned friends, for another great year 🫶🏼

Jenn was in for maintenance.
We replaced a few extensions that had grown weak.
She’s got a great set of locs! They’re about a year and a half old at this point. ✨

Started Angel’s locs two months ago and she was in for her first maintenance. They’re doing do well! She’s taking amazing care of them.
Following a proper home care regimen is so important for locs to develop and flourish the best they can.
Separate, palm roll and wear a sleep cap. Aside from that, you can use some tightening spray to help lay the fuzzies down, jojoba or argan oil for added moisture.

Shana was in for a few peekaboos! We started with six and then she came back for a couple more. We bonded over our passion for helping animals! Great conversations are had in this little studio of mine.

Tinetha and her gorg locs in for maintenance. I love how you love life, my friend! Authentically you!

Tabitha, a new client, was in for a partial and then popped back in to finish the rest of her hair. Happy to oblige 😎

Jodie called for a home visit and I couldn’t be happier to meet all of her cool pets! Pigs, sugar gliders, parrots—so awesome. Had a great maintenance session sitting out under the willow tree.

Recent maintenance for Cat ✨

Angel was in for a full-head install. Allllll her own hair! She has been wanting locs for a long time and finally went for it.

5.5 hours, pencil/sharpie thin, fish-scale sectioning, 60+ locs later ✨

Maintained much of her length starting out. Locs do shrink a few inches over the first year, as they tighten and work their magic. They’ll make it to the stage of growth and the shrinkage will simmer down. Adding in post-install, human hair extensions is always an option if you want to keep things lengthy during this phase!

Soooo excited to watch these guys mature.

Jade’s boyfriend surprised her with a loc install for her birthday! Jade has had locs before, but was ready for a fresh start with smaller sections. I love creating new locs using “pencil/sharpie” sizing, along with fish-scale sectioning. This allows the loc to move more naturally and reduces any tension. Remember, locs thicken over time, so be sure to take that into consideration with the size and shape of your sections.
Jade opted for a partial install. Total mermaid vibes with her awesome blue hair! 🧜🏼‍♀️ ✨

Cheri was in for an install of synthetic braid-in locs. These are a great alternative if you’re on the fence about permanent dreadlocks.
It was so fun to watch Cheri transform as we added more and more rows. She already had an awesome aesthetic, now she has some awesome hair to match!
I’m thinking she will be back for permanent 😉
