Ambiance is under new management & new ownership, as of Sunday the 15th of March. We currently have 2 chairs open, I have personally talked 3 stylists out of making Ambiance their home due to the status of my health and not being sure of the status of ownership.
Now, knowing that Ambiance is in good hands and the future of the salon is bright we would love to fill the chairs. We also have a 10x12 room that’s available as a personal suite, as well as space for a nail tech.
Spring is a great time for a fresh change and we would love to welcome some new talent to our already talented staff. We promise you’ll feel right at home.
Feel free to stop in or call Pete 517•627•1099 for more details.

I want my hour back!!

We have the most exciting news. As of March 15th , Ambiance will be under the ownership of Pete Holloway. Pete is a barber, realtor and owner of Studio One Hair. Adam & I couldn’t be happier with our decision and we are confident that Petes experience and innovative ideas are the right fit for the salon and stylists. I want to assure you that nothing changes on the end of your stylist.
A few years ago I was forced into retirement because of my health, and unfortunately it has gotten harder to deal the salon for me. This will give me the opportunity to focus more on my health.
The staff has been wonderful in my absence , giving their all to the salon, as well as tending to their own business. However the salon needs direction and someone with the drive to recruit new talent as well as lead the salon to its highest capacity to maintain its Ambiance. Look for updates from Pete!
I want to thank all of you for supporting Ambiance all these years. Whether it be sitting in your stylist chair, or buying your haircare from us , even stopping by to celebrate a milestone with us.It is much appreciated. I encourage you to stop in and
share a memory, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and most importantly a hug. Clients and former colleagues who I consider family.
This is an emotional experience for me, but I’m happy to be spending more time with my family and focus on my getting well.
Thank you so very much, it’s been a great pleasure.

This little sassy girl ain’t so little anymore! Reaching into memories. We’ve loved watching her and all of the kids of Ambiance grow up. #

16.9 oz Redken Shampoos & Conditioners are exclusively sold in salons. This week we’re offering the 16.9 oz for the same price as the 10.1 ounce. Yep, I’d grab this one up quickly. It averages to a $14 savings! *instock only- while supplies last

It’s always a thrill for me when the ladies get some love on a post. Everyone deserves some positive feed back to lift them. Even better when it’s not prompted or asked as a review, just pure client love. Thank you Elissa & Melissa for sharing!

I’m late to the party! But you can still show your hair stylist support. Happy Valentines Day! 💋
Feeling nostalgic this evening. Remembering many 5:00 am mornings meeting up whether it be the salon or an event center with some of the ladies at Ambiance. We so enjoyed pursuing our craft and being privileged to be part of a special event or a wedding with the bride, her friends & family.
Ambiance doesn’t provide makeup services any longer.I can’t speak for any of the stylist’s whether they provide bridal hair. So many beautiful ladies, it was overwhelming picking out photos, but a lot of fun remembering and we created a great team.
& Jen Temple with on occasion the much needed help of stylist Patrice Riley.
The bride to be in our video, popping the bubbly and getting the morning off to a great start is AshleyThrush. She is the owner of

Today we continue celebrating iconic women in the beauty industry during black history month. One of my absolute favorites, the legendary Pat McGrath!! She needs no introduction. If you’re not familiar with Pat McGrath she has been named the most influential makeup artist in the world by Vogue magazine and other commentators. She is self taught ,often called the “Mother of Makeup ”,known for her innovative runway looks and her own cosmetics brand, Pat McGrath Labs. McGrath is the first MUA to be named a Dame Commander of the British Empire for her service to the fashion, beauty and diversity industries. Known for a unique and individualized approach, she often uses her hands instead of brushes, and experiments with bold pigments to feathers and ornaments. She designs looks for numerous runway shows for major fashion houses, such as Versace, Prada, and Louis Vuitton.
Her eyeshadow pallets are commended for their high quality, high impact products focusing on supreme coverage, buildable color and luminous finishes. The core of her mothership pallets appeal in their high performance formulas. Consistently praised for their creamy textures and effortless blend-ability.
She is a legendary and boundary pushing MUA who has transformed beauty into high art.
If you watch any of her interviews she is truly humble, claiming she just fell into makeup artistry and it evolved for her.
If you can withstand my slideshow of her work, I think/hope you’ll be as mesmerized by her talent as I am.

As we continue to recognize and celebrate the success of black women in the beauty industry this month, our focus today is Christina Jenkins. Christina (Dec 25 1920-Nov 23 2003) was an African American scientist and is considered a pioneer in cosmetology. Christina was the inventor of the sew-in method, sewing extensions into natural hair with a needle & thread. By 1952 she was granted a patent for sew-ins. Coined the term “hair weave”, this practice involved using different ways to sew hair into natural hair. Finding it too bulky and unnatural looking, hair extensions were born.
Over the years Christina’s invention has evolved into braids, wigs, weaves, sew-in’s and clip-in’s which has become very popular.
Christina was definitely a pioneer in the cosmetology industry, and people all over the world are to this day applauding her innovation.
