With 15 years’ experience to her credit so far, DeAnne Ruebhausen operates Studio 6 at Salon Cooperative with a clear vision for her clients. DeAnne specializes in cuts and coloring, smoothing services, perms, and Shellac Nails. DeAnne really enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of the Salon Cooperative where each studio operates independently.

Products: DeAnne works with Pravana and Shellac Nails.

Certifications: DeAnne is Pravana certified.

Hours: DeAnne is available for your styling needs from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday, Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to close.

Kim Vanek is an experienced stylist of 18+ years, and has run her own His & Hers Hair Studio for 15 years. She is a full-service stylist. Along with being a color specialist, she is trained in Nufree waxing, Shellac Manager by Creative Nail, and Invisi-Tab extensions by Ron King Beauty.

Products: In addition to Nufree, Creative Nail, and Ron King Beauty, Kim uses L’oréal Professional (the Cadillac of colors), Pureology, and Redken.

Certifications: Kim holds certifications through Ron King Beauty and L’oréal Professional.

Hours: As the mother of three boys, Kim is available for early morning and late evening appointments from Tuesday through Saturday.

Samantha Roberts specializes in short cuts, brighter, bolder colors, and trendy men’s cuts at her salon, Vol Libre. She describes her styles as “not very Kansas.”

Sammy services many events including dances, military balls, Mother’s Day, proms, and graduations. She also offers monthly specials, so be sure to ask when you call for your appointment.

Products: Samantha uses products by American Crew, and Pravana.

Certifications: Samantha is American Crew certified.

Hours: Samantha’s hours vary, but she’s usually available Mondays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hours: While she does accept walk ins, Chrystal prefers her clients call to make an appointment. She is generally available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. She will work with your schedule and can be available outside of these times by appointment only.

For 12 years, Lisa Burns has provided her clients with memorable styles for all occasions. She offers coloring, cuts, chemicals, waxing and mani-pedis. From a value perspective, Lisa has not raised her prices in seven years.

PRODUCTS: Lisa uses Paul Mitchell and D’iora Keratherapy.

CERTIFICATIONS: Lisa holds a Certified Paul Mitchell Stylist Select Salon certificate.

HOURS: Lisa is available on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and every other Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She will work with your schedule and can be available outside of these times by appointment.

Over the next few weeks we'll be introducing you to each of the Salon Cooperative's stylists, and one therapeutic massage professional.

First up is Amie Renee. Amie has been a professional stylist for 14 years, going on three years as an independent business owner. She operates Studio 1 at the Salon Cooperative and is available for hairstyling, coloring, and facial waxing.

PRODUCTS: Amie uses Pravana products exclusively.

CERTIFICATIONS: Amie serves as an artistic educator for the Pravana brand. She is also proud to be certified through the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better Program, helping restore the self esteem of cancer patients. Amie offers a referral program. You receive one Pravana product of your choice after three of your friends visit Studio 1 for the first time and tell her you’ve sent them!

HOURS: Amie is available by appointment only. She is typically available Tuesdays from noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No walk ins, please.

All Suites are Open for Business!

The Salon Cooperative brings a new concept in styling to the Lansing area. Nine styling suites encircling the reception and common areas are leased and operated by independent business owners. Each stylist brings many years of experience to her craft. We’re sure you’ll find at least one who will have you done up in just the way you like, for ongoing care and maintenance or for that special occasion.

It all started over a golf game in Hilton Head, South Carolina in 2009. In a discussion with his links partner, Mike Greenamyre learned of a relatively new business model for the salon industry. Nationally, the idea had been around for just a few years by then, mostly on the coasts. Currently there are a few similar salon-suite combos in Kansas City.

It took Greenamyre Rentals’ Jeremy Greenamyre a bit of time to find just the right location in our area. Main Street Center in Lansing fit the bill. With some major renovations and updating, the store front at 826 N. Main Street opened for business 18 months ago.

As of today, we have a full complement of independent stylists providing full-service salon offerings – cut, coloring, styling, extensions, gel and acrylic mani-pedis, and waxing – or specializing in just a few. We are also proud to have a licensed massage therapist. Each business owner keeps her own hours so you’ll need to call to make an appointment.
