"Incoming photo dump... but first, we're going to brag a little. Because honestly, how cool is Lapeer?
Yesterday started with a movie being filmed in Historic Downtown Lapeer and ended with an incredible Back to the Bricks Tune-Up Party. There was even a wedding in-between. Through it all, Lapeer absolutely shined.
More than 700 classic cars and thousands of people filled our downtown. Locals and visitors from across Michigan and beyond spent the evening checking out amazing vehicles, shopping our local businesses, enjoying great food, sharing stories, laughing, singing, reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones. And honestly, that's what it's all about. Bringing people together to support their community, enjoy everything it has to offer, and simply enjoy each other's company.
None of this happens without incredible teamwork. Thank you to Back to the Bricks - Car Cruise, the City of Lapeer - City Hall, City of Lapeer Fire & Rescue, City of Lapeer Police Department, our Department of Public Works and City of Lapeer Community Center, Parks & Recreation, Young's Entertainment, Jay’s Septic Tank Service our amazing volunteers, and especially our downtown businesses. You welcomed thousands of visitors with open arms and truly rose to the occasion.
I honestly lost count of how many people stopped to tell me what a fantastic community Lapeer is. They talked about how welcoming everyone was, how beautiful downtown is, and how they can't wait to come back.
So stand up Lapeer. Be proud. Brag a little.

🎒📚 HDC’s Back-to-School Bash is almost here!

Our team is working hard to sort supplies, pack backpacks, and prepare to welcome families at three upcoming HDC Back-to-School Bash events across the Thumb area!

Hundreds of backpacks are filled with school supplies will be given away at each event, along with games, activities, community resources, and plenty of back-to-school fun.

We’re also excited to welcome Joell’s Face Painting & More, who will be offering:

💎 Glitter tattoos

No registration is required. Students must be present to receive a backpack and school supplies. Supplies are limited and will be distributed while quantities last.
