Hello to all of my clients, you all have been so patient and understanding through this unprecedented time, I want you to know that you all have been on my mind everyday. It is the relationships as well as the hair services that I feel hold us together and please know, I appreciate every one of you. I want to acknowledge that I know how important it is to you in having your hair services and what it means for you to go without those services as it something that makes you feel good and gives self assurance and confidence in how your hair makes you feel about yourself. I feel so fortunate to know you are all waiting to get an appointment or confirm the one you have for June.
My intention is to reopen June 1st, my time has been spent educating myself with webinars within my industry and preparing a plan on how to reopen with the new safe salon policy's for higher standards and protocols of health and safety to elevate this profession of being a Licensed Cosmetologist.
Within these new standards that will meet OSHA Guidelines and requirements, I will be posting what I will be doing different than the already normal sanitation standards as well as what would be required from you the client as we all must keep health and safety in mind to keep us all as safe as we can possibly achieve. As you all may or may not know, I have Heart Disease so I am taking this seriously as there may be some of you that also have underlying health concerns as well that makes this virus more concerning to want to approach this as best we can with what we know with CDC recommendations.
Now that the governor has changed the mandate to open salons, I will be working on how to approach making appointments for those that will have missed 8 wks of appointments, that means over 150 clients, so I am asking for your grace and patience as this will be very challenging, within the beginning weeks of reopening, the new standards will also include the consideration of booking less clients at one time, so that means this will take more time to rebook, my strategy will be to address those that have already missed two prominently grey hair color coverage appointments, at this time there will be No Blowdrying or use of hood dryer for two reasons, 1. Spending Less time in salon, 2. The possibility of airborne COVID-19 transmission. This will be re-addressed as time goes on.

As the coronavirus has taken over our lives and watched my fellow stylists in other states and in South Fl have to make the difficult decision to close the salons and businesses, in the last few weeks I had against my better judgement been uncomfortably working as I witnessed the public was also not sure what they should be doing. As of late last week our county placed a safer at home ordinance in place although still permitted non essential salons to operate under CDC regulations I did choose to close late last week. This is the right decision for the safety & well being for us all. We all will be struggling making ends meet but take this time to rest, regroup, reflect on the positive things in your life, work in your garden,or enjoy your pets as I know that is what brings me joy. We are lucky to live in our state with this beautiful weather. As for appointment : those that have appointments in April will need to be canceled and rescheduled. As we don't know how long we will be in a Safer at Home situation, I ask you to relax, I will contact you accordingly to the schedule and will be here for you on the other side of this.
