Social media has almost made inspirations appear too attainable.
Clients see $1500 dollar 8-10 hour hair transformations back to back on their feed and think it’s a typical hair appt that should still cost $150 rather than the luxury exception.

Over head , the education to do these techniques , product , tools etc . It is all through the roof - it is not 2006 anymore sadly . Your 6 hour color correction is not going to cost you less or equivalent to what the stylist is PAYING to be there doing your hair.

It really pains me to see so much TikTok and IG backlash from clients against other stylists who are genuinely doing the best that they can and trying so hard to keep costs down for the clients at their own expense .

Cheap services aren’t good , and good services aren’t cheap .

To put things into perspective- hair cuttery charges $32 plus tax for a hair cut now. Somewhere that was notoriously known for being a “chop shop” and having the lowest prices for haircuts. Cuts were $15 10 years ago there . Prices more than doubled due to inflation.
Now do you expect a private luxury stylist to cut your hair for bottom of the barrel prices ? You can’t go into Porche and demand the car off the lot for Ford Ta**us prices .

Your stylist invests so much into their career ❤️ please invest into them or go to a beauty school that fits your budget ! (You’d be suprised how talented many baby stylists are !!)
