Today we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can be free. To those that gave their lives in there name of freedom, we remember and honor you.

Congratulations to all those graduating, not only locally, but all graduates!

To all the women who play a motherly role (mom, grandma, aunt, foster, adoptive, etc) in anyone's life, I hope your day is filled with family, friends, memories, and love. For those that grieve the loss of a mother or child, I hope you can find peace and love.

To every nurse out there, you are an amazing work of art, with the soul of a saint and a heart of gold. As the nation kicks off Nurses Week (May 6-12) I want to be one of the first to say thank you! You have one of the most thankless jobs out there, often working short staffed and underpaid, but you show up anyway for the love of those you care for and what you do. Keep being the badass you are!

As some of you know, parts of New Mexico are on fire, leaving many to evacuate their homes. There's already people who have lost their homes, businesses, beloved pets, and so much more. While many rally and donate money, clothes, food, etc, hygiene items may not be on some people's minds. I want to help these people by giving them something so basic, we don't always think of it....a bath! The chance to take a shower or bath and feel refreshed and dignified, even if for a few moments. Please consider donating a bar of soap or two to help those affected by the wildfires in Ruidoso and surrounding areas.
