I did an experiment testing 4 different tortilla warmers to see which one would actually keep tortillas warm the longest… and I was SHOCKED by the results! 😳

I tested a wood tortilla holder, volcanic stone tortillero, ceramic tortilla warmer, and a basket with a heated terracotta plate. I truly had NO idea which one was going to win!

But the basket with the terracotta plate completely surprised me. It kept the tortillas significantly warmer during my test and is designed to help keep your tortillas warm at the table for up to 40 minutes.

If you’re looking for a tortilla warmer that actually keeps your tortillas warm while everyone sits down and eats, I highly recommend the basket!

I tested four tortilla warmers to see which one kept tortillas warmest after 15 minutes. Each warmer started with three tortillas heated to approximately 200°F.

Here are the results:

🥇 First place: Basket tortilla warmer with heated terracotta plate — 164°F after 15 minutes, dropping to 158°F after opening

🥈 Second place: Wooden tortillero — 99°F, with very little immediate temperature loss after opening

🥉 Third place: Ceramic tortillero — 99°F, dropping to 95°F shortly after opening

Last place: Volcanic stone tortillero — 93°F, dropping to 91°F after opening

🧺 Basket with a heated terracotta plate

Each one gets 3 tortillas at approximately the same starting temperature, around 200°F. After 15 minutes, I’m checking them again to see which tortilla warmer keeps them the warmest.
