Let’s make ALMOND MILK 🌱🥛

Making your own plant milk is easier and less time consuming than you may realize. And overall, the simplicity (meaning no shelf stabilizers) is more ideal for our bodies.
I recently made almond milk fairly easily w/ the assistance of an overnight soak, blender, and cheesecloth… and YOU CAN TOO, if you so desire 🫶🏽

👇🏼Here is a super basic recipe👇🏼

Soak 2 cups of almonds in water overnight (or a bit longer).
Drain water.
Dump soaked almonds in blender.
Add 4 cups of water.
Blend.
Strain almond mash through cheesecloth - *be sure to catch the liquid in a bowl, that’s your milk!
Return liquid to resealable container.
I added a sprinkle of salt & shook well - this is optional.
Date & store in refrigerator- use w/in 7-10 days.
Shake before using.
Enjoy!

👉🏼The almond pulp can be dried slowly in the oven on low temp to be used as a dry good to be added to such dishes as salads or oatmeal or it can be frozen (I used ice cube trays) for a few months and added to smoothies. Ask me for more details.

*my bowl can’t be seen sitting in my sink from the angle I videoed but it’s there to catch the milk as I strain the mash.

Do you make your own plant milk?

Oat milk is up next on my list 🫶🏽

⭐️Just a reminder⭐️

💚 Vegas folks - I’ll be doing a cooking demo at the @allfriendsanimalsanctuarylv events on January 26, please see the post pinned on our page for more details. I’ll be making zucchini lasagna 🍅

Please remember how vital it is to support shelters & rescues. Adopt, don’t shop!

An incredible, fellow volunteer, took the time to make this chart for those struggling and possibly preventing more owner surrenders from happening. There is help out there for people in need. Please share this post.. you never know who is struggling and is one day away from surrendering their animal to a local shelter. Let’s help each other and keep these fur babies in their homes.

ty for this ❤️‍🔥🌱🇵🇸

Single-issue veganism continues to undermine the integrity of our movement, as many refuse to address the systemic connections between human and animal oppression. This post explores the hypocrisy of advocating for compassion while remaining silent on global atrocities, the dangers of performative activism, and the limitations of isolationist thinking.

What does it say about our movement when we prioritize our own comfort over confronting injustice? If we ignore oppression in any form, we betray the very principles of justice and equality that we claim to stand for.
