Hear me out… UV adhesive can be challenging until you understand how it behaves.

Although UV adhesive cures primarily through exposure to the correct wavelength of light not humidity, it still contains cyanoacrylate. Once dispensed, the glue dot is exposed to moisture in the air, which can cause surface skinning, thickening and reduced performance over time. For best results, refresh your Olivor adhesive dot every 15–20 minutes.

Avoid an oversized drop or creating a large ball of adhesive at the base of the extension. With UV adhesive, less is more. Using too much can make complete and even curing more difficult.

Also, be mindful of stray UV light. Even brief exposure can begin the curing process, depending on the light’s intensity, distance and exposure time. Keep your adhesive dot shielded and positioned away from the lamp until you’re ready to cure.

The industry has sold UV as the season finale for retention and a perfect artist working relationship but it’s still so much more and I hope to add educational value.

This is no disrespect to any person or company ** I have NEVER said that it’s completely safe to go buck naked with the eyelids when using UV.

UV is still relatively new to the lash industry, and unfortunately, it’s often marketed as the “end to sensitivities and allergic reactions,” completely safe, AND the hero for retention, which we all know is one of the biggest struggles in our industry.

My thought process has always been pretty straight forward, if we don’t have enough studies or research yet on the long-term effects of repeated UV exposure in the lash setting, regardless of the wavelength being used, why wouldn’t we take a “better safe than sorry” approach?

We sell UV. We offer UV as a service. We use it every single day, and overall we have seen FAR more positives than negatives. I’m not anti-UV whatsoever.

But I have always been transparent about it, and I’ll continue to be. I think education, proper protection and understanding what we do and don’t know yet is extremely important.

Side note, if a company is informing customers that a product doesn’t contain a certain ingredient but doesn’t show a full MSDS sheet, chances are you shouldn’t use it. You are responsible for the MSDS sheets and knowledge of the products you’re using on your clients.

Yessssss! Our reuse-able eyepads resume their stickiness and can be used to adjust the lids just by themselves! If you need more help, grab your best friend (blue tape) and tape as needed.
To wash these eyepads, use antibacterial soap and water and leave in barbacide for 10 mins. Must hang dry and not on a paper towel 🤍

2 options here at Olivor and here’s the run down.
Dual Lamp, one stand, 2 5W bulbs for each eye to avoid any repositioning and 2 foot pedals. Sits on the side of your lash setup and has a 395nm wavelength. You can adjust the light to a more detailed circle, getting a precise cure where needed. I have tested this lamp with so many other UV glues on the market and thumbs up, it works.
What I don’t like? Sometimes the foot pedals throw me off and what turns into a flash cure can turn into a delayed response where the light is on a wee-bit too long. (Sorry being honest)
