Ahhhhh lash mapping and working side by side. 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨.

Let’s start with 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨. It’s a relatively new trick. While we didn’t have it back in my day (🤣🤣 just dated myself lol), it’s such a great tool for inexperienced artists to set it and forget it. There are so many things you need to focus on during the lash set, the length of the area and blending of the set shouldn’t be one of them! It’s so easy to lay down your lash map first and just check that off your list for the rest of the appt. That’s not to say you won’t have to pivot in each transition point based on the NL health and length. It’s just going to make those pivots easier to arrive at.

So if you’re wondering why some lash artist are coloring on their client’s face (not really face, just gel pad), that’s why! They’re laying down the blueprints of a beautiful lash set design.

As for working 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, it’s a good signal that you have really good control over your isolation hand, which also means that you’re pretty talented as that comes with time and practice.

Just remember to go back and check for those pesky stickies - it’s always easier to remove them when you do them instead of at the end of the service.
