I took this photo back in 2018 and never posted it.

Why? Because I was being EXTRA OCD about my work. 😂 I saw those two lashes. 😭
Her natural lashes were long and grew very straight, and I could see two little natural lashes peeking out at the outer corners against the sand.

That was ALL I could see.
Never mind the beautiful client, lashes, the beautiful beach in the background.

Now, 8 years later, I look at this photo completely differently.
I wish I had celebrated it instead of picking it apart.

So here she is… 8 years later.
Two little lashes and all. 🤩
And honestly? I love this photo now.

Fellow lash artists — please tell me I’m not the only one who looks back at old work and thinks, “Why was I so hard on myself?” 👇

Since 2012, when I first started thinking about what I wished for with LED lashes, I knew what I wanted the technology to do but getting there definitely didn’t happen with one design. 😂

I only show what worked and what we could release but what you DON’T see are the tens of thousands of hours, countless designs, bad prototypes and revisions that never made it.

Some worked. Some didn’t. Some looked great on paper and didn’t work the way I wanted once we built them. And some were changed over and over again until we got closer to what I envisioned.

That’s invention.
Trial. Mistakes. Testing. Listening. Improving.

Then doing it all over again.

Your feedback has helped me continue improving this technology, and I truly appreciate all of you who have supported me and Lynk-Gel® since the beginning. 🥹

And we’re still evolving.

For over a year, I’ve been working closely with our engineer developing Lynk-Gel® 5.0. There has been a LOT happening behind the scenes, and I can’t wait until I can finally show you what we’ve been working on. 👀

From the original Gel-Lys to Lynk-Gel® 1.0 → 2.0 → 3.0 → 4.0 → and now 5.0…

“But isn’t that light too close to the eye?” 👀

Good eye! 😉 That’s a great question, let’s back it up with actual safety testing… not just assumptions!

Our Lynk-Gel® device was tested under ANSI/IES RP-27 at a working distance of 1.2 cm from the eyelid, with the eye closed, which is how the device is intended to be used. 📄

So what does this mean for lash artists and clients?

🎯 Proper setup matters. This is one of the reasons we encourage hands-on training! We show you how to position the patented Lynk-Gel® device’s LED gooseneck so the light is pinpointed through your isolation tweezer and directed at the lash attachment.

👁️ Keep those eyes closed. Clients should keep their eyes closed during curing, and lash artists should follow the intended-use instructions.

⚡ Use the correct exposure time. Follow your Lynk-Gel® training and device instructions rather than guessing.

📄 Ask for the actual safety reports. Not all LED lash lamps are the same, and the distance and conditions used during testing matter.

Just because a light looks close doesn’t automatically mean it’s dangerous — but distance alone doesn’t prove it’s safe, either. The type of light, its output, how long it’s on, and where it’s aimed all make a difference.

We believe lash artists and clients deserve to know what the testing actually shows. That’s why we invest in independent safety testing and education.

Here’s a quick Lynk-Gel® gooseneck setup tip to help position your light exactly where you want it — inside your isolation tweezer.

✨ Position your gooseneck
🎯 Aim the light inside your tweezer
👀 Check your pinpoint before you start
⚡ Isolate → attach → cure

And remember: Lynk-Gel® has been photobiological safety tested at an intended-use distance of just 1.2 cm from the eyelid with the eye closed.👁️

That close working distance is important because Lynk-Gel® was designed for a small, controlled, pinpoint application at the lash attachment — not to unnecessarily illuminate the entire eye area.

Correct positioning = better control, precision, and an efficient Lynk-Gel® workflow. 🎯
